Breast Cancer in Pregnancy: New Guidelines
National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)’s breast cancer treatment guidelines during pregnancy would differentiate a woman’s pregnancy term and suggest surgery for first trimester and adjuvant chemotherapy during second trimester. Radiation therapy and hormone therapy will be withheld until the baby is born. However, these guidelines are not based on clinical evidence. NCCN’s cancer treatment guidelines may be found here.
