West Jordan Couple: Busted for Faking Cancer
Why would anybody lie about having cancer?
Apparently, some people can do it just for the money, as in the case of a West Jordan couple - James Clark and Tania Clark:
In 2001, Tania Clark, now 34, wrote an emotional letter to her husband’s supervisors at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency describing her struggle with cancer.
Based on her plea to be closer to loved ones and a letter purportedly from a Texas doctor, the DEA paid $47,806 to move the Clarks from Houston to West Jordan.
Once in Utah, Tania Clark collected thousands of dollars from donations and fundraisers by pretending to need a bone marrow transplant. Some of the donors were her children’s classmates.
But then no lie can be kept hidden forever. Now, the couple have been proven frauds and will have to repay the federal government $60, 000 for moving their family to Utah from Texas after the wife pretended to have cancer and the DEA agent husband asked for a transfer.

Faking cancer? As a 14 year breast cancer survivor I would love to know why anyone would do this, however I know someone who is. Worse yet sh eis on the 3-Day walk team in Florida and collected her pledge money by telling people she has breast cancer. Last year it was discovered she did that exact same thing at the school where she teaches and got busted and ONLY transferred to another system. Hello? Does anyone see something wrong here? She tried to join our walk team, another teacher on our team knew her history and we put her off the team, this is fraud and sick!!!!
