Don’t you just love long weekends?!
For someone who has been working online, full time, long weekends such as the one that just passed is always appreciated. It is always nice to get together with family without the constant interruption of technology (i.e. cellphones, the internet).
Here in the Philippines, this past weekend was extra-specially long.
- 29th Oct. - local election
- 1st Nov. - All Saint’s Day (like in Mexico, considered the Day of the Dead)
- 2nd Nov. - All Soul’s Day
300 years of Spanish colonialism, baby!
So, those who were able to get away with it, filed a continuous leave of absence (Oct. 29- Nov. 2) and will be just be coming back to work early this morning. Imagine the traffic that started mots probably at midnight (last night), with everyone else rushing back to the cities to go back to work.
I do not have a day job to go to, but really this morning, all I want is to sleep in late.
That’s the price we always have to pay. We take a long break, and then spend a couple more days at work to recuperate from our vacation hang-over.
So, for those in the said situation, be sharp at work this week. Drink lots of coffee and be sure to be home by 5 or 6, don’t work late. ;-)
Meanwhile, I have this blog (and other blogs) to go back to.
Ho hum. I am still sleepy, I’m telling you!
