Film Director Sydney Pollack, Dies of Cancer
Legendary film director Sydney Pollack lost his battle with cancer and died yesterday (May 26) at the age of 73.
Academy award winner director Sydney Pollack is best known for his movies Tootsie (1982), Out of Africa (1985) , among others.
Sydney Pollack, 73, a director and producer of popular Hollywood movies for nearly four decades, including the comedy “Tootsie,” and who won Academy Awards for “Out of Africa,” died May 26 at his home in Los Angeles. He had cancer.
