Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Brain Surgery, Declared Succesful
Senator Edward Kennedy has just undergone a 3.5-hour brain surgery at the Duke University Medical Center, to remove a malignant tumor.
His doctors declared the said surgery as successful.
The surgery “was successful and accomplished our goals,” according to a statement released by the neurosurgeon, Dr. Allan Friedman, at the facility in Durham, N.C.
Friedman said Kennedy was awake throughout the entire procedure and should experience no permanent neurological effects from the surgery.
A Kennedy spokesman said the senator spoke with his wife, Vicki, immediately after the surgery and told her: “I feel like a million bucks. I think I will do that again tomorrow.”
Sen. Kennedy is expected to stay at the hospital for about a week.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Senator. I owe him a lot - I was Lem’s longest time dog walker and friend. Maybe the Senator remembers Lem talking about me. I will never forget the Senator’s entry at Lem’s party, where he was received like royalty in good old Europe. A speedy recovery is my heartfelt wish for this most successful and committed senator! God bless!

Senator Kennedy grew with his job to the most formidable politician in the USA. The untimely death of his brothers, the tragedy at Chappaquiddique, et al. contributed to his development as a man and as a politician. This latest blow must not get him down. It is just a pebble on the stony road to the fulfilment of his destiny. Keep on fighting for your good and the good you have done for America.
